Explanation:

We, The World: (www.wetheworld.org) The mission of We, The World (WTW) is to maximize social change – globally. WTW is working to awaken a spirit of caring and involvement in the public so that millions of people begin to see themselves as part of one global interdependent community – and actively take part in creating a world that works for all!

Working with an extraordinarily accomplished team, WTW has begun the process of building an unprecedented critical mass of individuals, organizations and coalitions whose efforts to create a caring world will be highly visible and accessible. By forming global networks of collaboration between groups and individuals involved with: human rights, ecology, animal concerns, peace and nonviolence, creating ethical economic systems, creating cultures of self-sustaining green communities, personal and societal health and transformation, and many others whose work concerns the interests of literally billions of people and other life on our planet.

A United World: (www.aunitedworld.org) A United World is a website that is operated by WTW that encourages those participants that are involved with the pass it forward movement to access it as if it were your own website. In other words, “A United World” is your website and A United World/(your name).asp is your webpage on your website.
Requested changes to this website are always honored so that it is 100% acceptable to everyone. Best of all, there is never any fee associated with our work, we are not asking for money, we do not have affiliate programs, or advertisers on this website. It’s all free! What we want to do is show our appreciation for your efforts to pass it forward!
The purpose of this website is to create a collaboration of hundreds of thousands of people and organizations all working together to help make the world a better place and pass it forward to others. Our motto is “Do What Is Right & Help Others“.

Pass It Forward: (www.passforward.org) is a Movement! This movement is made up of volunteer mentors that are helping each and every person learn their purpose so that they can organize their passion, volunteer their gift, and engage their heart. After a 30 minute online chat session, your PIF Mentor will always be available to you by email to help you move forward by directing their mentees (proteges) to different people and organizations that are all available on the A United World website. We guarantee 100% satisfaction!

This PIF Movement (President Obama’s personal message) is encouraging individuals, families, groups and organizations to create their own PIF Program based upon their gift/passion. Everyone has a gift and if they don’t know what it is their own personal volunteer mentor will help. All programs must abide by Character Counts six pillars of character – trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring and citizenship. Additionally, the programs must be acceptable to 100% of people or it will not be a PIF Program. Pass It Forward Programs.

What does must be acceptable to 100% of the people mean?

If a person is working online with this movement they will be on a level of consciousness which we’ll call global consciousness. This global consciousness is made up of ALL religions and ALL political beliefs. When you are networking with the people and organizations listed on this website, you are looking for ways to pass it forward. As online mentors we strive to continually help our proteges (online) to make the world a better place based upon their gift. Everyone has a gift! What’s yours?

Creating your own We, The World nonprofit program: If a person wants to create their own nonprofit program, a mentor will be able to give access for protégé all the tools necessary free of charge on the A United World website. All volunteers of this movement are given the opportunity to have a mentor, be a mentor, and pass it forward. By creating your own nonprofit program, WTW will make available a donation button on the mentor’s web page so that the donor’s contribution is tax-deductable.

An individual, family group or organization can apply for a grant and be pre-approved by WTW first. Once they are approved by WTW to create their own WTW, PIF 501 © (3) nonprofit program, they may send their own money into WTW or have a sponsor do it for them. Within a couple weeks after WTW receives the money and the application from the future program director, they will be issued a check for 90% of what WTW received in the form of a grant.

It is now the responsibility of the grantee to open up a separate account with that money and track the funds on how that money is spent for their nonprofit program and report this information to WTW. All PIF programs can spend a maximum of 10% on administration with 90% of their money going to the cause.

L.O.V.E. It Forward: (www.loveitforward.com) Everyone has a gift and a volunteer Pass It Forward (PIF) Mentor will help you define your gift so you can then pass it forward to others.

Learn your purpose, Organize your passion, Volunteer your gift, Engage your heart

Online Community Service: (www.onlinecommunityservice.org) You can now do community service from the comfort of your own home, on your own computer, on your own time! In just 30 minutes via an online chat with a volunteer mentor, a protege (community service provider) will L.O.V.E. – Learn their purpose, Organize their passion, Volunteer their gift, and be given the opportunity to Engage their heart so that they can then PIF too.
Fundraising For a Better World: (www.RaisingFun.org) is considered by more and more charitable organizations as the fundraising solution for the 21st Century. Each unique fundraising program will be unique to your school or nonprofit. There is no cost for this service as a We, The World Charity Consultant is a volunteer representing the Pass It Forward Movement. With hardly any effort or cost, all your school or nonprofit can do is easily raise additional money for your programs and overhead!

Passing it forward is what so many of you do in your non-profits, without ever having labeled it such. Here is a website that wants to support your agency for passing it forward. Just ask an experienced consultant to contact you with fundraising ideas aunitedworld@gmail.com.

PIF Mentor: (www.PIFMentor.com) PIF Mentor is a for-profit website giving people an opportunity to make money while giving back at the same time. A mentor must first pay to the PIF Movement $9.95 per month for the opportunity to be a volunteer mentor. The concept is fairly simple – It is important for the success of this program that the protégé realizes that the mentor is actually paying a fee to be able to help.

Once a protégé becomes a mentor they have two choices. 1) Go to www.pifmentor.org and be a volunteer mentor for free and there is no charge. 2) Go to www.pifmentor.com and charge your protégé whatever you feel is appropriate based upon your qualifications. The first $9.95 goes to promote the world’s largest mentoring (acts of kindness) movement and the balance goes to the mentor. Pass It Forward Mentor’s Pass L.O.V.E. Forward.

30 Minute Mentor: (www.30MinuteMentor.org) The 30 Minute Mentor is a program for anyone needing or wanting to do community service by making a positive difference in others lives. There are many advantages to this type of community service for the supervisors as well as the participants. This is an on-line community service program that enables a person to help others from their own computer on their own time.

Once someone signs up for community service they will be immediately introduced to their own personal volunteer mentor to guide them along the way. The mentor will have a private 30 minute chat with their protégé to help them find their purpose, so that they can develop a passion and put it into action. During the same 30 minutes, the mentor will be training the protégé to do the same thing for others and pass it forward.

This website is being constructed so that thousands of private chats can occur simultaneously and copies of the communications between mentor and protégés (including log in and log out times) can be provided as needed.

Our Guarantee: The Pass It Forward Movement (PIF) stands by their promise that this movement must appeal to 100% of people. If there is anything on this website that is objectionable, please contact aunitedworld@gmail.com as soon as possible and we will rectify this matter immediately. Your comments and suggestions make this all possible, and we thank the hundreds of thousands of organizations that are involved.

If PIF does not hear from you, we will assume that you are behind this movement 100% and we encourage all of you to PIF and feel free to treat this website as if it were your own. We must ask, however that if you are going to use the phrase “Pass It Forward” yourself, the content must be approved by PIF in writing. Please submit all submittals to aunitedworld@gmail.com.

Random acts of kindness are a wonderful way to reach across time and space to touch the life of another being. Publicizing and raising awareness of the significance of human kindness undoubtedly makes the world a better place. At every step along the path of expanding awareness there is the opportunity to go deeper; to explore more of the potential of our divine humanness. So it is with kindness. Acts of kindness are really not difficult. An intention is formed, and you carry it out. It makes you feel good. Holding kindness and compassion in our hearts, and integrating them into the complexity and stresses of daily life, every day — now there is a deep challenge!

Parents can learn to discipline kindly, remaining firm, yet doing so with love and warmth. Teachers can learn to remain patient and forgiving, no matter how frustrated they might feel with a particular student. Employees can choose to cooperate and remain positive about employers, rather than going into polarity. They can preserve their integrity, leaving the job if they must. Employers can honor the individuality and dignity of each staff member, placing the significance of the human over the material. Men and women can choose to focus on what is beautiful and special about the opposite sex, rather than battling for superiority. Children can learn to let everyone play, rather than setting up exclusive games. We can all begin to celebrate adolescence and help teens to feel proud of themselves, rather than raising our eyebrows in disgust. Teenagers can learn to be patient with and accepting of adults in spite of our limitations, instead of raising their eyebrows in disgust. Drivers can realize that there is enough road to share, and time to get there.

Allowing a spirit of kindness to permeate our collective lives would be a quantum leap, from an evolutionary standpoint. Eliminating meanness, pettiness, gossip, criticism, judgment, polarity, and blame would be a superb act of kindness. It is also a fundamental step along any spiritual path. Those negative qualities reflect a very dense, heavy energy, vested solidly in ego, and they block the light of the spirit. Random acts of kindness amidst the darker energies are certainly a positive start. We can do more. Much more. We can resolve to be kinder, gentler beings. All day, every day. We can treat those closest to us with the same respect and politeness that we reserve for friends and colleagues. We can refuse to litter the lives of others with negative energy. If we do this, we will be doing our part to create a world in which kindness is never a random act, but rather a way of life.

It is in Giving that we Receive
by Nancy Armstrong

It is not about reading goodness that people do, it’s about doing goodness. It’s about making a change in your life, in your community, for a better world in which to live. I strongly suggest, or maybe the word is challenge, I challenge you to stop reading and start doing. One daily deed a day is all you have to do, you will feel so good about making a difference, you will want to do another and another. Don’t sit back and think it’s for the other guy to do. We change the world, one person, one kindness, one deed at a time. Be the change you want to see in the world.

It’s not only a matter of doing. What if everyone told someone they know about Project Linus, or started a get together with your friends once a month to make blankets for Project Linus, now you have a monthly social get together for a good cause.

Put a flyer in your church, or supermarket, with the idea, post your number, now you have a group of new friends!

Better yet, if you know of seniors, or contact a senior facility, tell them about the project. Ask them to knit or crochet 9 x 9 squares and you will pick them up, then have your group put the blankets together. Makes the seniors wake up everyday to a job they need to do, making them feel needed. Go back and take pictures with them when the blankets are made. They can post it in their monthly newsletter. I’m sure they’d be smiling for days over that.

Look in the phone book, and call your local assisted living, ask to speak to the activities director, and tell him/her about the Sunkist Lemonade stand. This would be a perfect project for seniors to do, they can raise funds for the local food bank, donate to the girls scouts, or to an animal shelter. It’s so important for seniors to feel needed and this is the perfect task. This is something they can make, and surely be able to sit and sell in front of their facility. This site is about change, and passing on ideas is helping to make a difference.

Take it from an ex-activities director, ideas are always welcome. This great idea was posted by Kindness Matters, as was Project Linus, way to go!!

You don’t have to necessarily do it, you can be a co-coordinator, let’s face it, not all of us have the energy to garden, but if we posted a flyer calling all high school students that need community hours. Become a Gardening Angel, earn your hours and make a difference. I’m sure if you contact any church, they will post that in their weekly bulletin, along with an ad on anyone physically not able to garden and is in need, please call (your telephone number) all you have to do is co-ordinate the two.

I have read such great ideas on this blog site. I myself have started the Birthday Club (thanks Betty)

Good Samaritan
by Pat Croce

When I was a commentator covering the NBA playoffs for the NBA on NBC, my field producer, Pete Radovich, and I traveled countless miles to report on games in a half-dozen cities. Between the wild crowds and bright lights and intense playoff action, we experienced a lot of down time. And without fail, whether we were in an airport or restaurant or hotel lobby, we would marvel at the courtesy—or lack thereof—of our fellow Americans.

Since Pete and I are such avid people watchers, we turned our observations into a game that we called, “Find Today’s Best Good Samaritan.” It was not as easy as it sounds.

Most days, we’d spy people performing simple tasks like holding the door or assisting with the retrieval of luggage from the overhead compartment. Occasionally we’d see someone engaged in the unusual act of assisting a stranded motorist.

But mostly, we saw men and women whose only concern was protecting their own miniscule space on this third rock from the sun. They were not interested in anything other than to get where they were going, so get out of their way!

One off day, when there was not a Good Samaritan to be found, Pete told me an amazing story of someone who could have been a candidate for Good Samaritan of the Year. He was speaking of his wife, Nancy.

One night, as she waited at JFK Airport for Pete to arrive from a game in Portland, she saw a group of men load their luggage into a van and then quickly pull away. In their wake, Nancy noticed they had left something stranded on the luggage cart. She got out to investigate and realized it was a leather portfolio containing someone’s personal life story: cellular phone, keys, credit cards, a sailor book, airline ticket, and passport.

This oversight was going to be that someone’s personal nightmare.

When Pete arrived, Nancy showed him the portfolio and explained what she had seen. After further examination, Pete concluded that the portfolio’s owner was a 21-year-old Norwegian sailor who was returning home from working on a ship in the Caribbean. He had landed at JFK and was transferring to Newark Airport for his flight to Norway.

Or, at least, that’s what he thought.

Upon even closer inspection, Pete discovered a hidden compartment from which he removed 71 one-hundred-dollar bills—that’s $7,100 in cash! Finders keepers, right?

Pete admitted that, naturally, the thought of keeping the money crossed his mind. They could just return the portfolio’s contents to the airline, which would then track down the sailor and help him get safely home.

As Pete fingered the cash, Nancy painted a picture of a 21-year-old kid who had just lost his entire paycheck and all forms of identity and was stranded in a foreign country with nothing but a world of trouble. Nancy inspired her husband—battle-weary from an extra-long day—to step on the gas and drive to Newark Airport in hopes of finding the lost soul.

Along the way they let their minds wander through the many ways they could spend their newfound treasure. When they arrived at the Scandinavian Airline counter, Pete and Nancy noticed a young man, obviously a wreck, being consoled by his friends.

“Stefan?” Pete said. “I think you forgot something.”

The sailor’s eyes widened like saucers as Pete pulled out the portfolio. “How? Where? I don’t understand….”

After some small talk and an emotional goodbye, Pete and Nancy turned to go.

“Wait!” Stefan said, and thrust a wad of bills into Pete’s reluctant hand. “I insist … and thanks again!”

It was a $1,000. And as of the next morning, it was the best $1,000 that Pete and Nancy ever spent!

About Pat Croce:
Since the 6th grade, when Pat Croce began delivering daily newspapers door-to-door, he has demonstrated a dynamic entrepreneurial spirit. Upon graduation from the University of Pittsburgh in 1977 with a BS in Physical Therapy and certification in Athletic Training, he pioneered the concept of sports medicine. In 1979 he opened the first sports medicine center in the United States with the Haverford Community Hospital Sports Medicine Center. Four years later, he opened Sports Physical Therapists, the first private non-hospital-based sports medicine center in the country. Ten years later, he opened the fortieth center.

Following the highly profitable sale of Sports Physical Therapists to a public company in 1995, Croce focused his entrepreneurial energy and indestructible positive attitude on the purchase of the NBA’s last-place team, the Philadelphia 76ers. During his 5-year tenure as president and minority owner (1996-2001), the team rose from worst to first in the NBA standings and broke franchise records in attendance, revenue, merchandise, and consecutive wins on the way to the NBA Finals against the Los Angeles Lakers in 2001.

Croce’s ascension from the training room to the board room, and his remarkable success in the resurrection of the Philadelphia 76ers as a NBA championship contender, inspired NBC Sports’ Chairman Dick Ebersol to call Croce “the architect of one of the NBA’s greatest turnaround stories.”

The entrepreneurial bug bit again when Croce pursued his passion for pirates by building the world’s first authentic pirate museum – Pirate Soul – in Key West, Florida. The museum has received rave reviews from media and press around the globe. The piratical complex was completed when Croce opened the Rum Barrel restaurant/bar next door.

Croce has also tackled television in his high-energy roles as a lively commentator on the NBA on NBC; a Tae Kwon Do expert for the 2004 Summer Olympic Games in Greece; the host of a nationally syndicated daily TV show, Pat Croce: Moving In, syndicated by Sony Pictures Television; and most recently as a panel judge on ABC’s hit show American Inventor.

Croce has been the proud recipient of the “Entrepreneur of the Year” Award, was a finalist (with Sports Physical Therapists) for the Malcolm Baldridge National Quality Award, and was featured on the cover of Inc magazine as “The Dale Carnegie of the 21st Century.” He continues to thrive as a serial entrepreneur, funding and launching companies in the fields of fitness, healthcare, spirits, technology, retail, real estate and entertainment.

There are numerous sites and Blogs dedicated to kindness and making the world a better place for all. From time to time, I find something special that I want to share with our visitors and beyond.

Not to long ago, I was introduced to Pam Thomas, founder of Make the Most of U. Pam is a Life Coach who’s passion is to help people find the assets and capabilities within themselves and around them, to move forward, accomplish goals, overcome obstacles, defeat fears, and create opportunities.

Pam has created a fantastic presentation on [[Kindness]], which will make you stop, think, and take action.

Be sure to visit The Kindness Movement, take some time and reflect on what you have seen. I am sure you’ll it will motivate you to take a step in the direction of Kindness.

Thanks to Pam Thomas from Make the Most of U for allowing us to share her Kindness with everyone.

“One day, a poor boy who was selling goods from door to door to pay his way through school, found he had only one thin dime left, and he was hungry. He decided he would ask for a meal at the next house. However, he lost his nerve when a lovely young woman opened the door.

Instead of a meal, he asked for a drink of water. She thought he looked hungry and so she brought him a large glass of milk. He drank it slowly, and then asked, “How much do I owe you?”

“You don’t owe me anything,” she replied. “Mother has taught us never to accept pay for a kindness.” He said, “Then I thank you from my heart.” As Howard Kelly left that house, he not only felt stronger physically, but his faith in God and man was strengthened also. He had been ready to give up and quit.

Years later, that young woman became critically ill. The local doctors were baffled. They finally sent her to the big city, where they called in specialists to study her rare disease.

Dr. Howard Kelly was called in for the consultation. When he heard the name of the town she came from, he went down the hall of the hospital to her room. Dressed in his doctor’s gown, he went in to see her. He recognized her at once. He went back to the consultation room determined to do his best to save her life. From that day, he gave special attention to the case.

After a long struggle, the battle was won. Dr. Kelly requested from the business office to pass the final billing to him for approval. He looked at it, then wrote something on the edge, and the bill was sent to her room. She feared to open it, for she was sure it would take the rest of her life to pay for it all. Finally she looked, and something caught her attention on the side of the bill. She read these words:

“PAID IN FULL WITH ONE GLASS OF MILK….

(Signed)
Dr. Howard Kelly.”

Tears of joy flooded her eyes as her happy heart prayed: “Thank You, God, that Your love is shed abroad through human hearts and hands.”

The older guy says, “Isn’t it interesting that students are motivated to do such incredible acts without getting any credit?” Such acts are fun, collective, creative, and incredibly challenging. But typically, they’re not all that constructive nor do they leave anything with a lasting “wow” feeling either. by Todd Demas

There are some old sayings that can be traced back to the Bible and the Golden Rule: It is far better to give something or yourself to others than to get something from them. And also, we must always do unto others just as we would like them to do unto us.

That’s not the rules we usually live by today. Today we live in a cutthroat world where we strive for personal achievement by acting on our own ambitions. We worship financial success and put ourselves first most of the time. We always push for that instant gratification and the honor of self.

Throughout the ages humanity has mostly put the protective care of self first. It’s one of humankind’s basic instincts.

And of course this mentality is critical when we are encouraged to never quit, finish what we start, keep pushing through hardships, and persevere no matter what.

But what folks need to remember is very plain: You receive great fulfillment when you give of yourself. Not only that, you also do good for someone else. Showing others that they matter makes all happy — including yourself.

Ever wonder what the reason for this is? It is because doing for others is one of our secondary instincts.

There are many troubles in the world and it is easy to focus on the negative. However you can choose how to respond to the negative events in the world. If you choose to respond in a positive manner then you might be surprised by the positive effects on your mental and physical health.

Have you ever visited a senior citizen in a retirement home? It made you feel pretty good didn’t it? Think about the happy feelings you had while visiting with this person. And you recall how nothing else was as important as making this person happy.

Remember seeing the blind man on the street who played his guitar for you when you gave him a dollar? It makes you think about all you have and how well the blind man played. Have you ever done something for someone else that made you tearful and gave you a strange peace inside?

We are wise to invest a lot of time helping others. This really is our whole purpose in life — to put others before ourselves. All of us hve it in our grasp to make a better day for someone else. The act of kindness could be something as simple as just talking to someone else. It is as simple as just sharing our time and getting to know the person we are helping. We were never meant to live alone in the world.

There are great benefits to be realized by the community, the person you are helping, and yourself when you give.

And lastly, remember that everyone has different tastes, likes, and dislikes. Some like football while others like baseball. Some like fast food while others like to dine in only the finest restaurants. Some like to work behind the scenes while others like the prominent positions. Some are workaholics while others are slothful. The point here is don’t spend a lot of money on resources trying to pleasure someone with something they do not want. Spend it by giving of yourself. It’s more valuable than material things.
